Planned Giving Update – November 2022
Hello Classmates,
As we approach our 25th Reunion, it’s a poignant time to join Smith’s Grécourt Society so you can support Smith College now and later at the same time.
What’s the Grécourt Society, you may be wondering?
Alumnae and friends who have included Smith in their estate plans through a will, trust, retirement plan, life insurance policy or life income gift are eligible to join The Grécourt Society. Planned gifts of any amount qualify for membership.
Benefits of membership include an invitation to our annual Grécourt Society reception held during Reunion. Who doesn’t love being invited to a special reception at this and every future reunion?! And, of course, you’ll be supporting Smith and Smith students now and in perpetuity.
In addition, there’s another significant reason to join this year.
The Grécourt Match – Round 2 started on July 1, 2022. Under this match, an anonymous donor from the Class of 1982 has pledged $1,000,000 as a pool of matching funds where 10% of a newly documented planned gift will be matched by a current contribution to Smith’s scholarship endowment (up to a limit of $10k per match). The Match continues until the entire $1 million has been matched.
Perhaps you have been considering funding a charitable gift annuity? Now is the perfect time to do so. Not only can you take advantage of the higher rates, but you can also participate in the Match! Please visit the Gift Planning website at smith.plannedgiving.org for more information about annuities, The Grécourt Match, including Smith College in your estate plans and joining The Grécourt Society.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Gift Planning Office at gift_planning@smith.edu or (413) 585-2051.
Best,
